COPPER ROOM
Technical description
4 screens, 4 video projectors, 4 synchronized DVD players and 4 speakers

The video installation consists in four video projections what can be seen at the same time. The four video-projections have been edited separately, even though they are synchronized when there are projections of the horizon. The images of each video projection are completed through the position of the other screens.

An intermittent horizontal line defines the border between the sky and the desert. This horizon divides and unifies two empty spaces at the same time. The convex space of the copper-mine and the concave space of the universe represent two systems of knowledge, which aren’t yet reconciled.

The first one and the second one, the convex space of the mine and the ghost town, represented the internal knowledge, the individual memory and the intimate and subjective consciousness of time.
The second and the third screens, represented by the concave space of the desert and the cosmos. They are the systematised and “objectified” knowledge by science and history.

Alma Project is a representation of disorientation outlining the empty spaces, which rationalism doesn’t succeed to calculate. Alma Project addresses the incapacity of the individual to orient him/herself in the world that surrounds him/her.
