Prototype attempts
to produce a displacement of deeply rooted ideas in Western societies
which delineate the concept of liberty within different aspects of life.
The project comprises a trilogy which is unfolded along three coordinates:
time, space and body. Each part refers to a "prototypical" idea
-generalised and dominating without being questioned- about how to understand
the concept of liberty:
PROTO-TIME:
Time Archive
[2009 -10]
Time Archive refers
to the temporal structure we are submitted to without regard for individual
temporality; conditioning and homogenizing social temporality for the
benefit of the neo-liberal machine. Time Archive is an archive -subjective
and not exhaustive- of drawings on the imaginarium
which surrounds the idea of time in the West as a lineal time and historic
time.
PROTO-SPACE:
Dance of Paradoxes
[2010-11]
Dance of Paradoxes
is about the concept of liberty as a space which doesn´t exist.
Etimologically Utopy means the place that doesn´t exist. Mathematics
and geometry invent space which only exists in the ideal realm of representation,
of signs and formal symbols.
PROTO-BODY:
Monkey Woman [2009-11]
Monkey Woman develops
a proposition concerning the instrumentalisation of nature, animal and
vegetable, for human benefit. The objective is to show a parallel process
within the construction of the concept of the individual and individuality
which demands the space of liberty. And how the concepts of individual
and individuality are used as instruments to subordinate the natural environment
to a quantitative revenue depending on human value.
